Saudi Arabia hailstorm turns parts of the Taif desert white as heavy rain, thunderstorms and flash flooding hit parts of the kingdom. Abu Dhabi also faced heavy rain, lightning and thunderstorms on August 21, 2026.
Heavy hail was reported across southern Taif, while intense rainfall triggered flooding and runoff in affected areas. Saudi Arabia also issued severe weather warnings covering thunderstorms, hail, strong winds and flash floods.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi witnessed heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds, prompting authorities to warn residents about hazardous conditions.
